(one of) the way(s) i understand 2 pride and its relationship to holy freedom/holy will is that 2s have an overinflated sense of how consequential their actions are; because everything one does feels like such a big deal with heavy implications for others, you get a fussiness that makes expression very difficult. there's a sense that anything you touch is subject to break so you're careful what you touch. i think this is why in so many fictional narratives about 2s, there's "the moment they break down," and the other characters are filled with a sort of surprised tenderness when they realize the 2 actually has (imperfect) feelings. unlike it might be for fear or gut types, the withholding of emotional expression for 2 isn't really about vulnerability in the safety sense per se, but more an overinflated sense of how the honest emotional expression of shameful emotions would impact others, sometimes with a lack of perception of how the absence of that expression affects people.
